Plz reply me for my problem as non-detection of External dvd writer is a very common problem, i tried searching forums but was not able to find any satisfactory answer.
What steps i should take to get this writer in bootable mode. My internal dvd writer stopped working a long time back so bought a new external one. However in normal working while running windows its working fine. My second problem is now i am facing is my samsung external dvd writer (Samsung SE-S084) is not showing up in boot options if i try to boot from any bootable CD or DVD. I am using an external usb sound card for the needs, but however sometimes sound works by own but not always, i tried everything to troubleshoot that but nothing works since while installing sound driver, it gives error that device not found, which clearly says that my sound card is not working at all. Now my problem is after some time my sound card stopped working and it still not working from last 1 year. It came preinstalled with windows vista homepremium, which i later upgraded to windows 7 ultimate.
Dv6705au which is AMD turion64 X2 powered with 2 gb ram and 160 gb harddisk.
